The Devonshire Association has received a grant of £39,936 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to raise awareness of the heritage of six outstanding assets in the county which have been designated as having global significance by UNESCO.

The Devonshire Association, a charity with over 150 years of experience in championing science, art and literature in Devon, will use the grant to put on events aimed at engaging the public with the county’s unique heritage. There will be a number of free talks and events taking place across the six areas recognised by UNESCO. These areas include:

Dorset and East Devon Coast World Heritage Site
Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape Heritage site
North Devon Biosphere Reserve
The Exeter City of Literature
Exeter Cathedral’s Exeter Book
