Saturday 4 January: Due to the yellow weather warning of snow and ice at RHS Garden Bridgewater, there is reduced access to pathways in the Learning Garden, Community Grow, Wellbeing Garden, Blue Peter Garden and Welcome Garden. All other areas of the garden, the Stables Cafe and the Welcome Building, including the Garden Centre, Gift Shop and Bridgewater Café, remain open as usual. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for your visit.

Discover deadly plants on a family garden trail, take part in spooky craft and planting activities, meet fascinating creatures with ZooLab and have a go at Rangoli to celebrate Diwali.

Garden admission applies; free to RHS members and children under 5. Activities are included with garden admission (unless marked *).

Wicked plants trail

Follow our family garden trail and spot the ingredients for a witch’s potion to cast your own magic spell! Learn about beautiful but toxic flowers, insect-munching carnivorous plants, freaky fungi called dead man’s fingers and plants used for spells and potions.

Rangoli art

Have a go at Rangoli – an ancient art that goes back centuries, created at Diwali time to welcome guests and the goddess of wealth into our homes. Make your own Rangoli to take home and learn about the celebration of Diwali.

ZooLab animal workshops

Thursday 24 October – first come, first served

Get up close and hands-on with some amazing exotic animals as our Zoolab Witch concocts a potion to make them taller! Meet the likes of snakes, snails, spiders and more as we have some spooky fun throwing the ingredients into the smoking cauldron. Sessions last 45 minutes.
